Recently I obtained a number of obsolete glass lantern-slides from the Department of Art History of the University of Leiden, in Holland. The slides are all about Western Art History, particularly of 15th-, 16th- and 17th-century Dutch, Italian, English and German paintings and prints. The slides have been stored away for a number of years and are now being discarded and replaced by digitalized images stored in a computer chip. These slides represent a time in history, which I believe should be taken out of the drawers and re-presented or brought to life as a modern day lantern.
